    Status Quo
    Tuesday, 06 November 2007
It has been quiet here, as we decided to save money for deleting emission alllowances in the next trading period which starts in 2008. Since emission allowances are expected to be scarcer then, deleting them will have a greater impact than deleting now. Expectations of scarcicity already have created a future price of around EUR 22/EUA.

However, we are still happy about all support and donations. 70% of all donations will be used to buy and delete emission allowances. 30% will be used for website maintenance, PR and office costs. We hope to be able to increase the fraction used for deletions in 2008.

Upon request we will of course help you to offset emissions produced by events and activities. Please just send us an email (info[at]thecompensators.org) and we will get in touch with you to talk about the details.

    Avoid or Compensate*
    Wednesday, 03 January 2007

Avoid emissions where possible. Compensate* if you can't avoid!

TheCompensators* is an association which deletes emission allowances (EUAs) from the EU Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) in order to decrease the number of emission allowances available on the markets. By joining TheCompensators*, or by supporting our goals, individuals and interested businesses provide implicit support for an effective climate policy, push for emission reductions and, by increasing the cost of carbon, contribute to a faster deployment of climate neutral technology.
